Casual/Temp Staff - The Law Says Yes!

In recent years the casual/temporary workforce has grown from 13% to 25% (*1).   As an employer, you are entitled to bring on board casual or temporary staff to complete short-term functions.  The advantage of this is that you are able to have a flexible, short-term option to provide you with the necessary skills and input that you need to get a task completed. The reciprocal advantage is that the casual staff member may need to have a flexible arrangement as well and you can come to an agreement that is mutually beneficial.   Casual and temporary staff are an excellent way to provide your organisation with short-term, skilled labour.  Despite the sometimes negative press the casual status can get, there is compensation built in to the casual staff member's hourly rate of pay to cover leave entitlements. (*2).

JP Smith Recruitment & HR can assist you with temporary staffing options for office and clerical staff, professional staff (Accounting, Law, Government etc) and technical staff (Engineering, Drafters etc).

We can "loan" you a staff member for a day, a week, a month or a year. We put them on our books, we pay them, and we deal with all their superannuation and payroll queries. All you do is get them to do the work you need, for the time you need.

We aim to provide the highest level of temporary and short-term staff for you by utilising our proven staff selection techniques to ensure you receive quality and output without having to worry about the overheads and admin of finding short term resources.

We are able to provide our exceptional service, including full skills testing, reference checking and generic inductions, whilst still maintaining a competitive hourly rate for you.

We would like to know more how we can assist your business in this area and have included a link below to a short questionnaire.

We would greatly appreciate you taking a couple of minutes or less to answer a few questions about temporary staff and your business.
