One big legislative initiative that came into play earlier this year is LabourHire. In short, it is a licence, or certification, that allows businesses and entities to supply human capital and services to other businesses. These can be contractors, training/apprenticeship organisations, or recruitment agencies, such as JP Smith.
If you have people working for/with you, who you do not directly employ, this legislation could affect you. The initiative was purportedly introduced to promote the rights of seasonal workers, ‘temps’, and other similar employees. A LabourHire certification indicates that an entity is able to supply labour, is financially fit to do so, and is compliant with the relevant legislation and laws.
We at JP Smith are LabourHire licenced and can, thus, provide businesses of all walks of life with temporary, contract and casual staff, whenever required.
