This week the Australian Psychological Society is holding its inaugural Psychology Week around the country. It is a fabulous initiative that aims to increase public awareness of how psychology can help people, families and communities to find ways to increase their psychological wellbeing and live better, healthier lives. It is also an excellent time to ask yourself the question as to whether you, yourself, are in the healthiest position you could be? As you would know there are a myriad of online surveys and tools that will assist you with this and here is one that we have found that could be of real benefit: Click here to take their Wellbeing Survey.
Everyone is responsible for their own health and well-being at the end of the day. But having said that, don’t be too proud to ask for help. In a country like Australia, where there is resources galore, you don’t need to look too far to get some form of assistance.
This goes for employers as well. If you are interested in improving the wellbeing of your staff, perhaps consider introducing an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) into your workplace. An EAP is primarily designed to aid employees through whatever difficulties they are going through via a professional counselling service. This can range from issues within the workplace through to problems at home that consequently get brought into work. We have 2 Psychologists in-house who are available to speak to your staff, when you need them. For more info, call us today on 07 4659 7400. Happy Psych Week!
