In 2009, Jamie Smith was a appointed to the committee for the 2011 Industrial and Organisational Psychologists conference held in Brisbane. It was two years of hard work from the committee to bring it all together and we were impacted with an unbuilt Brisbane Exhibition Centre, devastating floods through that area as well as an ash cloud from the Chilean volcano only a couple of days before the conference began. However the committee and the delegates persevered and as a result one of the most successful conferences was held. A great result in terms of event management but in particular, some excellent professional development.
