FMCG Store Manager

We have an excellent opportunity with a local cooperative, to run and manage your own food and grocery store in regional Queensland. This role will give you full management responsibilities that range from ordering, layout and design of the shop floor through to staff management and financials. The cooperative has three stores in total and you will be able to call upon your peers for like-minded support and report through to a very experienced and hands-on general manager who is well-versed in the industry as well as this particular store. Key accountabilities of the role will include:

  • Maintaining and enhancing the profitability of the store;
  • Driving the "fresh" elements of the business;
  • Managing and leading the team,
  • Looking for new promotions and innovative store displays,
  • Dealing with reps to get the best outcomes; and
  • Reporting on key metrics to the GM.

This role will position you at the forefront of community interaction and involvement and will see you supporting local organisations and initiatives at the grassroots level. We are needing someone who will take a long-term view to the sustainability and profitability of the business and ensure that there is a good return to the cooperative that owns and manages it. You will be well supported with solid management, well-defined budgets and controls and some solid, long-term staff members. The store management position includes a solid base salary, bonuses based on profit as well as your accommodation which is a house that is adjacent to the store.
