About the role:

Reporting to the Farm Manager, you will be responsible for rearing Day Old Chicks and producing the highest quality Pullet for transition to the main Farm. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Rearing/growing day old chicks in a productive, safe and welfare oriented environment;
  • Supporting the Farm Manager in day-to-day operations;
  • Contributing to the strategic direction and business management;
  • Monitoring and maintaining a high standard of livestock production;
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies;
  • Participating in audits and reporting operational matters promptly;
  • Monitoring animal health and administering treatments as directed; and
  • Assisting in team management, recruitment and training.
About you:

To be successful in the role, you will have proven supervisory experience (3-5 years), a record of your positive contributions to business growth and a demonstrated dedication to animal welfare. You will also possess:
  • The ability to manage resources within policy guidelines and budget expectations;
  • Strong decision making, interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • Basic computer skills.
An understanding of the requirements of Quality Assurance and Food Safety Systems and documentation would be highly regarded (but not essential).
