Speech Pathologist

A local Toowoomba Specialist Disability Support Provider is looking for a qualified speech pathologist with a passion for family and community-based health care. As a Speech Pathologist you will be supporting children and young adults with physical disabilities, neuromuscular disorders, autism, intellectual disabilities, amongst others. Full and part time opportunities are available. 
  
About the role: 
  • Provide therapy services to children, young people, and adults with an autism spectrum disorders, intellectual, physical disabilities and other complex needs.  
  • Work with the individual and families to identify the individual's strengths, skills and goals 
  • Identify barriers that may restrict the individuals’ physical, emotional, cognitive and/or social development, wellbeing or participation.

What qualifications are we looking for? 

Our client is looking for someone with a Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and is registered with SPA (Speech Pathology Australia). 

About you:  
  • Experience delivering evidence-based therapy to a paediatric, adolescent and/or adult caseload.  
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and administrative responsibilities in an autonomous, efficient and effective manner. 
  • An understanding of the NDIS framework and working within a fee for service model is desired. 
  • Be able to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. 
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills – written, oral and listening. 
  • Be computer literate and familiar with using customer record systems. 
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate (including CPR) or willingness to obtain one. 
  • QLD Working With Children check (Blue Card). 
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance. 
  • Must have a valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required. 
  • Access to use of own vehicle, if pool car not available (KM reimbursement available).
