Choose Your Own (Psych Test) Adventure
Do you remember when you were a kid, there were those books called, "Choose Your Own Adventure"? Where you would read up to a certain part of the book and then it would give you a set of options and whichever option you chose, you would then go to the corresponding page and pick up where your choice took you to. It would then go on and there would be multiple different endings. I loved those books. I was able to go through and read (my passion) but also, be able to have some influence about where I ended up and what I got out of the book. It was all about discovering a new pathway and having that influence over where you ended up.
These books were an influence for building our first ever web application. And it's all based around you, the client, choosing the psychological testing that you want. But more importantly, what it does is take you through a journey of the attributes, traits, personality profiles and cognitive ability elements that we test for every day. What we have endeavoured to do is put together a pathway that allows you to not only choose exactly what you want your person tested for, but more importantly, to understand the elements that you can find out about a person's personality, cognitive ability and critical thinking. We have adjectives, descriptors and phraseology in there that will hopefully resonate with you and will highlight variables that contribute to performance and interest. It will be tempting, in some cases, to pick everything and you can certainly do that. On the other hand, it can be a good opportunity to look at some of these factors and see what you really want and need within the role and what you don't. Risk-taking behaviour is good in some circumstances, but it might not be good in a compliance or QA role. Everyone likes to identify as an introvert nowadays but is that really who and what you want for your business development role? Do you want a really creative person in a role that requires them to stay inside the lines? Or vice versa.

You can have a play around with the app/web page at no cost and no commitment. You can just go through it and pick and choose all those skills and traits and attributes that you'd like and then have a chat with us about the testing afterwards or use it in your interviews and make them part of your questioning if you like. It will be as much professional development as it will be assisting with a service to you. If you do have a play around with it, we'd love your feedback.
I've been thinking about doing something like this for years now and the technology has come up now to do it (you wouldn't believe the amount of variations of output this can produce when you've got this many inputs!). It's been a bit of a baby of mine and I'm happy with how it is functioning and very proud of it. Give it a go:
