About the role:

As an early career Mental Health Clinician, you will deliver therapeutic support and interventions to individuals with mild to high needs, supporting the operations of the Medicare Mental Health Centre (MMHC). Your expertise will ensure the provision of high-quality triage, safe mental health assessment, therapeutic interventions and referral services. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Working with adults (18 to 65 years old) who present with various mental health matters;
  • Developing a clear understanding of your clients through case formulation and assessment; 
  • Providing counselling and evidence-based interventions in brief, moderate, extended and group forms; 
  • Monitoring client risk factors; 
  • Taking accurate case notes and complying with the quality framework; 
  • Working closely with other allied health professionals in the community for referral and outreach; and
  • Participating in community events and advocacy that build the profile and accessibility of the centre.
About you:

To be successful in this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in an Allied Mental Health discipline and be registered with an appropriate professional association and /or AHPRA. This is an excellent opportunity for a provisional psychologist or an early career social worker.  You will ideally have had some experience within a mental health service and knowledge of case management, care coordination and evidence-based intervention. You will also require a:
  • Drivers Licence; and
  • Police Check.
