Their mission has been to empower individuals by building skills, supporting daily living and creating pathways to employment and independence. The Finance Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the organisation’s financial systems, reporting, compliance and financial governance. 
  
About the role: 
  
As the Finance Manager, your responsibilities include: 
  • Lead the organisation’s financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting;
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to the CEO, Board and executive team;
  • Oversee budgeting processes and monitor performance against budgets;
  • Manage cash flow, investments and financial risk;
  • Provide strategic financial advice, modelling and scenario analysis to support planning and growth;
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities to support long‑term sustainability and funding diversification;
  • Ensure financial governance, controls, policies and systems are in place;
  • Prepare annual financial statements and coordinate the external audits;
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, funding agreements, reporting standards and taxation obligations (including BAS, SGC, Qleave and FBT);
  • Support the CEO with insurance management and claims;
  • Monitor financial performance and reporting of government‑funded programs and service agreements;
  • Provide financial oversight of funding and service delivery budgets;
  • Lead, supervise and develop the finance team staff; and
  • Maintain and improve financial systems, processes, data integrity and reporting efficiency.

Skills & Knowledge
  • Knowledge of financial governance, compliance and accounting standards.
  • Financial analysis and modelling skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management.
  • Well-developed systems, processes and computer skills.
Essential Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, commerce or related field.
  • CPA, CA or equivalent professional qualification with current membership is preferred.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience in the not‑for‑profit, community services or disability sector.
  • Knowledge of the NDIS, government funding and reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting Board reporting and governance.
