Our client is one of the largest agribusinesses in Queensland, with a multi-plant facility located in Millmerran and its surrounds. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Livestock Health Assistant Manager to join and support their poultry operations, with a primary focus on managing the poultry vaccination program. This well-established business offers diversity in your work, liaising across multiple internal business units.
About the role:
Reporting through to the Poultry Services Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing a vaccination team of 16;
- Ensuring that the vaccination schedule is kept on track;
- Understanding the process and the logistical components of getting your team in the right place at the right time;
- Assisting with the relocation of the birds;
- Monitoring staff performance and levels to ensure equal workload and adherence to directions;
- Ensuring animal welfare; and
- Meeting required timeframes to successfully inoculate and progress a healthy flock.
To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to engage and lead a diverse team with cultural awareness, build respectful working relationships, contribute to continuous improvement and apply practical problem-solving skills. Animal husbandry or poultry experience is advantageous but not required.
