Our client:
- Is a private, medium sized engineering firm;
- Specialises in civil and structural design and project management across the Darling Downs and Maranoa regions;
- Has a wide range of projects in the pipeline, across state government (Transport & Main Roads), energy/gas and private sectors;
- Provides services in structural & geotechnical engineering, environmental management and asset management;
- Was founded in 1956 and is one of Queensland’s largest regionally based Consulting Engineering firms; and
- Has offices and team members in Chinchilla, Roma, Tara, Miles and Toowoomba.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing projects, design tasks and documentation;
- Providing timely advice and technical information to internal teams;
- Monitoring and reporting on project progress to relevant stakeholders;
- Developing fee proposals/ cost estimates for all proposed and additional works;
- Conducting periodic site inspections of construction works and monitoring the performance of all contractors and subcontractors; and
- Administering construction contracts.
To be successful in the role, you will possess a minimum of a Bachelor level degree in Engineering. You will also ideally have:
- Knowledge of QUDM, IPWEAQ, AUSTROADS and DTMR guidelines;
- Sound knowledge of construction practices for rural and urban roads and utility infrastructure;
- Experience in administration of construction contracts;
- Sound interpersonal skills and commitment to building and maintaining business relationships; and
- Minimum 7 years of industry experience (5 years relevant Australian experience).
You will be required to have a white card and an unrestricted Driver’s License, as travel to job sites (using company pool vehicles) will be required.
