Labour Market Vacancy Update

Job vacancies are still on the up ☝! This year has been very competitive to find the right people and it looks like this trend is due to continue. Australia hit a national 12 year high for job vacancies in May this year. Since then, we have seen a slight decline, however, we are still up by over one third compared to our pre-covid levels. Queensland is performing well with an additional 15,000 jobs this last month compared to pre-Covid. When you look at the 3-month average worm for Toowoomba and Brisbane, our regions are still very competitive.  (Data from LMIP Vacancy Report July 2021)
